Pure bliss. White sand and sun. Parasols on Indian Rocks Beach, Gulf of Mexico
Weeki Wachee Springs State Park is a wildlife and adventure park located about an hour north of Tampa. It is home for a mermaid show performing since 1947. The viewing auditorium is 16 feet below the spring surface. Very large and deep the spring has an underwater cave system running beneath it. The cave system consist of over 6,700ft of caves and passages. The deepest cave is reported to be over 400ft deep (the deepest in America). The show runs for about 15 to 20 minutes with the mermaids submersed for extended periods of time. They use flexible pipes of oxygen to breath underwater. The New York Times has posted video of the mermaids on YouTube. Recommended visit. Further information on the Weeki Wachee website
Spectacular sunsets aplenty. These images taken on a few brief visits to Hudson Beach on the west coast of Florida.
Stars and stripes. My first post since returning from a recent trip to Florida. Photographically very inspiring. More to follow including the mermaids of Weeki Wachi, flora and fauna, beautiful sunsets, costal landscapes, and some abstract works.
Welcome to my blog. Expect to see my most recent work posted here in the near future.
